“I am not a pastor, stop calling me one,” Majid Michel says.

Renowned Ghanaian actor Majid Michel has addressed long-standing public perceptions about his religious role, clarifying that he is not an ordained pastor, despite being widely referred to as one.
In an interview shared by @bessagh on X on January 16, 2026, the actor, who has been actively involved in Christian teachings in recent years, stated clearly that the title of “pastor” was not one he gave himself, but rather one assigned to him by the media and the public.
According to Majid Michel, he has never been ordained and does not lead a church. He explained that while he frequently speaks about the Word of God and is often invited to minister at Christian gatherings, this does not make him a pastor.

“First of all, I’ve said it so many times, in so many places. The media, you people, made me a pastor. It is you people that made me a pastor,” he said.

Majid further emphasized that he considers himself a teacher of the Word of God, not a pastor, and prefers to be addressed as such. He added that he only attends church services when he has been invited as a speaker, noting that he does not belong to or operate a church of his own.

“I am not an ordained pastor. I am a teacher of the Word of God. I am not ordained. I don’t have a church,” he stated.

The clarification comes amid ongoing public discussions about his transition from mainstream acting into faith-based speaking engagements. Majid Michel has remained consistent in his stance, repeatedly urging the public and media to accurately represent his religious role.
