Ghana’s International Casting Director Mawuko Kuadzi Receives Artios Awards Nomination for Feature Film “The Fisherman”

Ghanaian casting director and CEO of MK Casting, Mawuko Kuadzi, has recorded a landmark achievement at the Artios Awards, becoming the first African in the awards’ 40-year history to win an Artios Award.
Kuadzi won Best Casting for a Commercial at the 40th Artios Awards in the United States for his work on the NFL Super Bowl commercial, Born to Play. Presented annually by the Casting Society of America (CSA), the Artios Awards recognise excellence in casting across film, television, theatre, and commercials, and are regarded as a major industry benchmark.

Following this historic win, Kuadzi has continued to place Ghana on the global creative stage with a nomination in the International Feature category at the 41st Artios Awards. He earned the nomination for his casting work on The Fisherman, a film that has already won Best Ghanaian Film at the REFFA Awards and the Best Actor in Africa award, with its authenticity and performances widely praised.
