There are some events that feel less like programmes and more like experiences people genuinely need. The Juliet Asante Mentorship Series is one of them.
In collaboration with Black Star International Film Festival, Juliet Asante is opening up what she calls “a circle”. This “Circle” aims to be an intentional space for people who are building, searching, questioning, and trying to grow through both life and creativity.
Juliet Asante, in her announcement, describes this programme as something that is not meant to be another motivational talk filled with rehearsed answers and industry clichés.
“This is not a masterclass. This is a circle.”
Juliet Asante, the former CEO of the National Film Authority of Ghana, known across different spaces as an actress, filmmaker, writer, entrepreneur, mentor and institution builder says the idea behind the mentorship series comes from years of experience across film, education, leadership and policy work.
“I have lived many lives in one lifetime.”
Beyond the titles and achievements, the heart of the mentorship series appears to be honesty. The kind of honesty that many people quietly crave but rarely find room for.
According to her, “real transformation does not happen in lectures. It happens in honest spaces, where we stop performing and start revealing.”
The series will focus on three pillars:
- Film: using storytelling as a tool for truth and reflection
- Creativity: exploring the force behind reinvention, not just in art but in everyday life.
- Life: understanding the personal foundation beneath everything people build and become.
Where many events are focused on filling seats and creating buzz online, this one is more interested in creating meaningful conversations. This “Circle” has made a decision to limit the first gathering to just 50 participants.
The invitation itself feels direct and intentional.
“If you are looking for easy answers, this may not be for you. If you are ready to engage, be challenged and evolved, you are welcome.”
For many creatives and young professionals navigating uncertainty, pressure, ambition and growth, spaces like this are becoming increasingly important. Not every challenge can be solved through technical training or networking. Sometimes people simply need room to think, question themselves honestly and reconnect with purpose.
The first session of the The Juliet Asante Mentorship Series is scheduled for 4th June 2026 at 2:00 PM.
